As a “Hoosier,” he competed in basketball, baseball, football, and tennis during his school years. He graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1995.

Following high school graduation, Dr. Willis enlisted in the United States Air Force, starting at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. After graduating from Basic Military Training, Technical School, and the Law Enforcement Academy, he was reassigned to Minot AFB, ND; where he worked the next 4 years.

While serving active duty at Minot AFB, Dr. Willis was invited to church by a coworker; until this point, he had never been to church. At his first church service, he became a Christian and met Heather Miller, the daughter of David Miller, pastor of Minot Baptist Church. They dated for a year, and were married at the same church in June 1997 by her father.

In 1998, while serving in U.S. Air Force, Dr. Willis went to base hospital for elbow pain. During the exam, a tumor was found on his thyroid gland. A biopsy revealed thyroid carcinoma, a malignant form of cancer. The doctor recommended immediate surgery, chemotherapy, and replacement thyroid hormone drugs. Dr. Willis complied and was very thankful that the doctor found this tumor in the early stages of the cancer. During the course of treatment, Dr. Willis decided to compliment his healthcare with alternative medicine.

He researched alternative medicine for several months, and discovered chiropractic healthcare. Learning that chiropractors were doctors that treated their patients by adjusting the bones of the spine, that they removed nerve interference, which allowed the body to heal itself from disease, and caused the body to function better. Dr. Willis decided to visit a local chiropractor. After receiving chiropractic care, he was so impressed with the results that he decided to become a chiropractor.

In 2001, Dr. Willis graduated from Minot State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He decided to go to Palmer College of Chiropractic, located in Davenport, IA. The school is known as the “Fountainhead of Chiropractic,” as it is nationally recognized as the founding school of chiropractic.

Dr. Willis has studied theology and ministry. While attending chiropractic college, in addition to his chiropractic studies, Dr. Willis earned two doctorate degrees in external seminary studies: At the age of 24, the Doctor of Ministry degree (D. Min.) through Patriot Bible University in Alamosa, CO; and at the age of 26, he earned the Doctor of Theology degree (Th.D.) through Calvary Baptist Seminary of Eufaula, OK. In 2003, at the age of 26, Dr. Willis was ordained for the ministry by a council of seven pastors, and the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Rock Island, IL. In 2005, at the age of 28, Dr. Willis graduated from Palmer College with the Doctor of Chiropractic degree (D.C.) and became a licensed chiropractor for the state of Illinois.

Dr. Willis attended post graduate and advanced chiropractic training at the National College of Chiropractic located in Lombard, IL; where his focus was on physiological therapeutics. Dr. Willis furthered his knowledge, understanding and technique of chiropractic, therefore providing a broader spectrum of care to his patients.

Dr. Willis and his wife live in Mahomet; they have four wonderful children: Carter, Cara, Carson, and Cadance.

Dr. Willis says, "Chiropractors are specialists. Just as a cardiologist is a specialist of the heart, a chiropractor is a specialist of the spine. The spine has two main functions: (1) The spine is responsible for posture; it supports us, keeps us upright and healthy. (2) The spine is responsible for protection of the spinal cord, which is like a "river of energy" from the brain. The brain controls all functions of the body. The brain sends energy through the spinal cord, through the nerves, to every organ and tissue in the body. Every organ and tissue is totally dependent on this energy, to keep the body live and healthy. Doesn't this make logical sense? Now, because of the many stresses in life, whole sections of the spine can shift out of place. When that happens, it's called, "SUBLUXATION." SUBLUXATION is like a "dimmer switch on the wall," that turns off the energy, so the energy can't efficiently get to where the organs are. Now, the organs will PROGRESSIVELY degenerate, weaken, and cause disease. Can you logically see how that can happen? Subluxation causes whole sections of the spine to DEGENERATE, WEAKENING the spinal structure, DISTORTING the spinal posture, which causes STRESS to the WHOLE SPINAL CORD. Now, the whole spinal cord is under DISTRESS. When this happens, the brain can hardly move any energy into the rest of the body, and whole sections of organs begin to BREAKDOWN, and causing disease. So now folks, you can see how YOUR POSTURE and YOUR SPINAL HEALTH is directly related to YOUR OVERALL HEALTH. Now, the NERVES ARE INFLAMED (which is signaled by underlying pain), and then YOUR BODY is in a CRISIS.
So, you're having low back pain, right? That means the nerves in your LOW BACK are INFLAMED, that YOUR BODY is in a CRISIS. The NERVES aren't getting any ENERGY to the ORGANS, and the ORGANS are being AFFECTED. What are you going to do about it? Take some medicine and hope the symptoms go away?
